About the Author
Bente Elsworth was born in Randers, Demark. She has lived in England since 1968 and has a degree in Russian from the University of London. She has many years of experience in teaching Danish at the University of East Anglia and this has made her aware of the particular problems that English speakers face when learning Danish.

no help pronouncing the language

Danish writing is no more phonetic than English, maybe less. So here we have one more book that gives almost no guidance for pronunciation and no phonetic notes in the dialogs. Incredibly, the glossary (vocabulary) at the back has no phonetic annotations. That glossary misses half the Danish words in the text and omits many common English words that any traveler to Denmark would need to know (eg 'computer'). A decent Danish grammar should give parallel phonetic scripts and gloss every word used the grammar.
